Sanju Nepal from Kathmandu shares
I Love Nepalese
During the board exams of my 12th standard in 2003 AD, I suffered from typhoid.
The first exam day came across. Even though I was weakened by the disease and antibiotics, I had to sit in the exams. On the same day, there was a day of national strike usually called Nepal Bandha (though I don’t remember who the organizers were). The miserable day saw me walking all the way towards the exam center since no vehicle was running due to the threat posed by protestors.
Another interesting incident happened near my home. Cell phone of a woman CA member was looted on the busy road. This shows that even the leaders and lawmakers of our country are not safe here and they too are feeling the heat of the crime they always preferred to ignore.
Unfortunately, this is the real scenario of our country. Optimistic by nature, we Nepali are still hopeful that peace and prosperity will return to us. But when? No one has the answer.
I identify political disputes tolerated everyday by us as the main cause of my situation on the exam day. Not only mine; the current situation of our country is also the effect of the same grounds. Bandha may fulfill the interest of the organizers, not the general people who suffer the most. What is the measurement of our loss on such days and how do we get compensation?
It seems like no one is going to stand in our favor. As a responsible citizen, we need to fight for our rights. If not now, then when?
Thank you Campaign for a ‘Livable Nepal’, I am with you.
Best Wishes To Us Nepalese.
With warm regards,
Sanju Nepal
